How far is the launch site from the ferry?
The kayak stand is approximately 1 mile from the ferry landing in Old Harbor. Walking to launch site is easy- use the sidewalk on Ocean Avenue to get from Old Harbor to New Harbor. Allow 20 mins to ½ hour to walk. F.Y.I I am the second kayak business on Ocean Avenue (behind the B.I.M.I business)

Taxis are always available at the ferry

Do you have a restroom/ changing area?
Yes! yes we do.

Can I fill my water bottle at your site?
We don’t have potable water on site but we try to remember to fill large water cooler on a daily basis. Bottle water is available for sale at the Donut Shop on the property

Are there any restaurants nearby?
On site: Payne’s Killer Donuts. Offering donuts, ice cream, coffee, soda, and water

Next door: Dead Eye Dicks, Rebecca’s on the Dock, and The Narraganett Inn.

Up the street: The Oar Restaurant, Luca’s Farm stand

What should I wear on my feet?
Footwear should be designed for getting wet. Water shoes, flip-flops, or crocs are great options

What clothing should I wear?
In the summer almost any clothing that can get wet is fine. Spring and fall synthetic clothing made of wicking materials is recommended. For sunset or full moon kayak layers are best.

What time should I arrive for my tour?
Arrive on site with enough time to get yourself ready (i.e. applying sunscreen, using restroom, changing clothes.

Folks take differing amounts of time to get ready to participate in our activities. We usually recommend arriving 15-20 minutes ahead of the start time but we cannot gauge how long it will take you to get ready so please respect your fellow participants and arrive early enough to be ready at start time.

What happens if the weather is not cooperating?
Tours will be cancelled due to high winds, thunderstorms, and heavy rain. Tours will not be cancelled due to light rain or fog.  We make the decision and will call you at the least 1 hour before scheduled tour

What is your cancellation policy?
24 hours prior to tour. Please cancel via phone call or text 401.578.2773. Leave your name and the time your tour was scheduled.

When is the best time of day to Kayak?
Well, it depends what type of experience you are looking for.   If you are truly looking for a unique experience sunrise, sunset, or full moon kayaking offers an amazing experience. Thai is not to say, however that during the day is not good as well.   Checking the tides is a good idea. Kids and families tend to like low tide because there are place to get out and explore.

What are your operating hours?
Early spring and Late Fall we are open 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Summer 9:00 to 6:00
Extended hours available upon request

It is ok to bring my young kids?
Yes. And yes we offer PFD (personal flotation device)

Do you have a place to store my bag?
Yes!

Do you offer group discounts?
Yes! Please give me a call so we can discuss prices

Is there a place to change?
Yes. Public restrooms are located at the entrance of the property. I also have a hose available to spray down your feet
